In July, for the first time in history, Mexico elected a left-wing president who won by a landslide on the promise of profound changes to the country’s political, economic and social institutions. Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Morena’s victory has vested the new administration with unprecedented legitimacy to fulfill these promises, but the details of the policies remain unexplained. Join us for a conference that will examine López Obrador’s main proposals, potential challenges for implementation and the changes to expect over the next six years. The conference will bring together high-level public officials, scholars and journalists from the U.S. and Mexico.
